Depending on the job, office clerks might answer phones, filing, data processing, faxing, envelope stuffing and mailing, message delivery, running errands, sorting incoming mail and much more. Each office clerk job is a little different and varies by the office type.
Clerks are the first point of contact for enquiry and guidance for visitors and customers. Some banks mention clerk as single window operators or cashiers, as the person inside the withdrawal and deposit counters are mostly clerical grade. They are responsible for accepting issue demand drafts, verify cheques, and sanction withdrawals, payments and other banking related services to the customers. Receipts collection, ledger maintenance, balance tally and other transactions, basically all the back- office work must be keyed in the computer systems after office hours. Marketing of financial products of bank such as deposits, loans, scheme to visitors are also taken up by clerks.
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts its examination for the post of Clerks. But this time the exam will be conducted in two levels Tier 1 & 2 (Preliminary & mains). Two tier exam for recruitment of Clerk from CWE V onwards.
IBPS department decided to take IBPS 5 Online exam in two parts:
1. IBPS Preliminary Exam
2. IBPS Mains Exam
Note: All participants who successfully registered himself / herself in Clerk V firstly have to fight with (Preliminary) Pre exam and Shortlist candidates in Preliminary examination will be called for Mains Exam. Marks scored in mains exam will be decided for short listing for interview.
